WSJ reports TSMC will build a 5nm fab in Arizona, US. The move is part of a plan from the US government to reduce reliance on foreign countries for chips, as a lot of the global supply chain is now situated in Taiwan, China, and South Korea.

Earlier this week, TSMC still denied it had firm plans to build a fab in the US, but now WSJ claims the plan could be announced as early as tomorrow. The 5nm fab from TSMC is expected to be ready for mass production by the end of 2023, at the earliest.

At this point, it's unclear if TSMC is getting financial incentives from the US government. The report does indicate that U.S. State and Commerce departments are involved with the plan.
