MSI is now offering BIOS updates with the AMD AGESA Combo PI V1 1.0.0.6 microcode update for some of its motherboards. More motherboards as well as AGESA Combo PI V2 1.0.0.2 updates will follow in the coming weeks and months.

At the moment, the company has updates for its 400-series non-MAX motherboards. Updates for the B550 motherboards will follow on June 17th, and the 400-series MAX motherboards will get new BIOS versions by the end of this month. X570 motherboards will get updated by early July and the 500-series will follow by mid-July. Owners of 300-series motherboards will have to wait the longest, those boards aren't planned to get the update until sometime in August.

The 500-series motherboards receive the AGESA Combo PI V2 1.0.0.2 microcode update, while 300- and 400-series motherboards get AGESA Combo PI V1 1.0.0.6.
Since AMD releases their new Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT and Ryzen 5 3600XT Processors today, MSI also made great efforts to offer optimized BIOS updates for 300-, 400-, and 500-series motherboards. The latest AMD Combo PI V1 version 1.0.0.6 BIOS for 300- and 400-series motherboards will be ready for users to download and update in the end of June. Regarding 500-series motherboards, Combo PI V2 version 1.0.0.2 BIOS will be released in the beginning of July. The updated BIOS updates are mainly optimized for the new Ryzen CPUs. Besides, there are several key points for the BIOS improvements.

New features:
  • Support discrete graphics card identification, allowing users to successfully enter OS with AM4 CPU (w/o integrated graphics) and without graphics card installed.
  • Solve compatibility issues for graphics card and USB sound card.
  • Optimize A-XMP memory functions
