VideoCardz received an interesting photo from a reputable leaker. The image reveals Intel's upcoming Rocket Lake-S vPRO series may have an unexpected CPU configuration; an eight-core variant with twelve threads. This sounds pretty weird so it will be interesting to see if this variant exists or whether it was a typo.
There have been quite a few leaks on the new series already, but so far none of them has suggested that the Core i7 would feature an ‘uneven’ configuration of cores and threads. According to the picture, the Core i7 series would feature 8 cores, but instead of 16-threads, it would only have 12. We were unable to confirm if this is a typo in the document, but this ‘unexpected’ CPU configuration was the reason we received this picture in the first place.
The leak also talks about Comet Lake Refresh, but this refresh only applies to Core i3 and Pentium series, and not higher-end parts.
