A Linux kernel patch message reveals Intel's Alder Lake processor is indeed a hybrid processor with Atom and Core processor cores. This was already rumored for some time but now there's more official confirmation as this info comes straight from an Intel employee.

Alder Lake-S may be Intel's first 10nm part for the desktop part. It's the successor to Rocket Lake-S and it's expected to be released in 2022. Alder Lake-S will introduce the new LGA1700 socket and should be the most significant update in quite some time. The platform is expected to support DDR5 memory as well as PCI Express 4.0.

These processors will feature up to sixteen cores in an ARM big.LITTLE-like configuration, with eight big Core units and eight small Atom cores.
Intel Alder Lake is now rumored to be the first 10nm mainstream desktop series. It would also use a newer core design (Golden Cove) paired with Gracemont’s small cores. Additionally, the CPU would be equipped with integrated Xe Graphics.
