Today is the launch date of AMD's first Ryzen 4000G series APUs for the desktop market. These Renoir-based 7nm APUs feature up to eight Zen 2 based cores and up to eight integrated graphics CUs based on the Vega architecture. AMD has six Ryzen 4000G parts for regular desktops as well as six models for the business market. Furthermore, the desktop and business market also get three new Athlon 3000G parts each. These Athlon parts are Picasso-based, they have Zen+ cores and Vega integrated graphics. The Athlon models aren't very powerful so not a great choice for gamers, but definitely more than enough for web browsing, office productivity and casinos online. All of these models are exclusively for system integrators. AMD says Ryzen 4000 APUs for the DIY market will follow sometime later this year, but the firm didn't share a specific launch date.

The AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Desktop Processors offer:

  • Up to 31% faster performance than the competition
  • Up to 43% more performance per watt than the competition

    Availability
The Ryzen 4000 G-Series Desktop Processors are expected to be available in systems from OEM partners including Lenovo and HP starting in Q3 2020. The Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Desktop Processors will be available from SIs at launch on July 21st and are expected in systems from OEM partners starting later this fall. The Ryzen 4000 G-Series, Athlon 3000 G-Series, Ryzen PRO 4000 Series and Athlon PRO 3000 Series Desktop Processors are exclusively available from SIs and OEM partners.
  • As noted above, the DIY versions of AMD's desktop Renoir-based APUs will follow at a later date. AMD also once again reiterated that its "Vermeer" Zen 3-based Ryzen 4000 desktop processors will hit the market before the end of this year. The regular desktop processors from AMD lack integrated graphics so you will need to pair them with a discrete video card. Expectations of Vermeer are high and we have no doubt systems based on this chip will deliver an excellent experience on the best online casino sites or for AAA video games. An exact launch date is unknown.
