Wireless earbud chip prices are dropping hard

DigiTimes highlights that prices of True Wireless Sound (TWS) earbud chips are dropping fast. The site says some chips now cost under $1 due to fierce competition between China- and Taiwan-based suppliers.

Apple is expected to introduce its next-gen AirPods in 2021. These will be manufactured in Vietnam.
Demand for TWS earbuds may be robust, but prices for chips supporting these devices have been fallign fast, thanks to keen competition between IC design houses. Pricing for some TWS earbud chips has fallen below US$1. Apple is expected introduce its next-gbeneration AirPods next year, with manufacturing partners ready to gear up production at their plants in Vietnam.
