Last month we wrote NVIDIA overtook Intel in terms of stock market capitalization. Since that date, NVIDIA's stock price continued to climb and the company is now close to hitting $500 per share. Basically more than double what the stock was trading for at the beginning of the year.

High anticipation for future revenue growth as well as an overall tech boom have pushed NVIDIA's price/earnings ratio to a very high level.

An interesting observation is that NVIDIA currently has a market cap of $303.5 billion. This compares to $208.1 billion for Intel and $96.77 billion for AMD. Basically, NVIDIA's market cap needs to rise just one more billion and the chip designer is worth as much as Intel and AMD combined!
