A leaked CPU-Z score of the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X gives some clues about the performance of AMD's Zen 3 architecture. While this leak should be taken with a grain of salt, it may provide a preview of what to expect from AMD's October 8 presentation. VideoCardz provides the numbers:
The processor allegedly scored 652.8 points in a single-threaded benchmark and 9481.8 points in multi-threaded. This is +20.3% and +14.4% respectively higher score than Ryzen 9 3900X. Both processors are expected to feature the same 12-core configuration. The clock speeds and architectural improvements over the Zen2 variant are yet unknown.
The first Ryzen 5000 series processors are expected to ship in the second half of October, possibly as early as October 20th.
