Hexus noticed that 25.75 percent of gamers that use Steam are now using a PC with an AMD-based processor. AMD's marketshare has been climbing for some time now and September's 0.84 percent increase finally pushed the firm over the 25 percent marketshare mark. Intel remains dominant with marketshare of 74.24 percent.
Above you can see that back in May Intel lead the CPU market share 77.54 vs 22.45 per cent. Four months later AMD has powered forward to boast possession of 25.75 per cent of the Steam user base. This represents a hearty 3.3 per cent uplift in AMD's CPU share over the period.
AMD's Ryzen 5000 processors will be revealed on October 8. With this new lineup, the firm is poised to capture more marketshare from Intel.
