Floor mats are nothing new but I think SPC Gear is the first company to pitch them to gamers. The Polish computer gear firm has released the Floor Pad, a line of PVC floor surfaces for use with gaming chairs. The company offers a 900mm x 900mm version as well as a 120mm x 120mm variant. These have a MSRP of 29.90EUR and 38.90EUR, respectively.
SPC Gear, the gaming label of the European manufacturer SilentiumPC, presents with the new Floor Pad an excellent solution for the protection of floor surfaces for use with gaming chairs. The Floor Pads are available in two sizes: 90 x 90 cm (90S) and 120 x 90 cm (120R) and therefore fit into all common environments. The new mats are designed to protect the floor surfaces from damage as well as scratches, caused by the wheels of gaming chairs. The Floor Pads are made of very durable PVC and attach firmly to the floor, preventing them from slipping. The use of the Floor Pads also provides increased comfort, as the gaming chair moves much more smoothly and quietly on the mat. Another positive feature of SPC Gear Floor Pads is the water-repellent surface, which makes them easy to clean and resistant to spilled liquids.
Excellent protection
One of the most essential properties of a mat is the protection of the floor surfaces. Most gaming chairs wheels cause wear, scratches and damage to the floor. SPC Gear has optimized its Floor Pads to combine the surface protection with other properties in one product. The Floor Pads are suitable for all types of flooring, including plank floors, wood parquet and ceramic tiles, and are therefore equally applicable for all computer environments. Thanks to the use of highly resistant PVC material, the SPC Gear Floor Pads effectively protect the floor from damage.
Optimal grip
Unlike many simple PVC mats, the SPC Gear Floor Pads provide extra grip. Thanks to the non-slip bottom side, the mats stick to the floor surface, ensuring that the mats do not move even if the gaming chair moves frequently. The upper side of the floor pads, on the other hand, is optimized to ensure that the wheels roll smoothly and safely, but only when it is intended.
Reduced noise level
Usually, rolling over the bare floor produces rumbling noises that are louder or quieter depending on the floor covering. The durable surface of SPC Gear Floor Pads effectively suppresses these noises, increasing comfort for both the user and anyone else nearby.
