A rumor hit the web that we may expect new chipsets from Intel as early as next month. Citing Asian reports, VideoCardz writes Intel may introduce 500-series chipsets at the firm's January 11th CES 2021 press conference. The lineup will reportedly include Z590, B560, and H510 chipsets. Motherboards with these chipsets are intended for Rocket Lake-S, the last 14nm desktop from Intel.
According to the same article, Intel has not yet set a firm date for the launch of the new Rocket Lake series. The site claims, however, that the 11th Gen Core series could launch either end of February or early March. It was previously rumored that the series would launch in March alongside the new motherboards, but it appears that the release date has not been set yet.
Rocket Lake-S is based on a new architecture and features Xe-based integrated graphics. It will introduce PCI Express 4.0 support and will be the last LGA1200 chip as the future Alder Lake-S will use LGA1700.
