Game developer GSC Game World has a nice parting gift for the end of the year: the first trailer of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 video game engine. The trailer doesn't show actual gameplay footage but provides a glimpse of what the game's new video game engine is capable of.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is the fourth installment in the series, it's expected to be released in 2021. The last game was S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, which saw the light of day in 2009. Interestingly, GSC Game World started working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in 2010 but that version got cancelled in 2012.
Get your first in-engine look at the first-person sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and its Zone through the eyes of its main protagonist, Skif. As developer GSC Game World puts it, this teaser represents "how the game actually feels: fast-paced change of scenery, ominous landscapes and the ever-present feeling of an inevitable danger accompanied by a barely-distinguishable guitar soundtrack." S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is due for release at some point in 2021 on Xbox Series X|S (day one on Xbox Game Pass) and PC.
