Apple
When Apple first showed revealed the iPhone in 2007 the company unleashed a shockwave. The first iPhone combined the best-of-the-best features with some secret Apple sauce. The biggest negative was the very high price. At the time, it was very hard to imagine this would become a mass-market product as the price was a lot higher than what people were used to spending on a phone.

A lot has changed since 2007 and these days a lot of people are shelving out as much money for a phone than for a laptop. For the first time ever, the active use base of the iPhone is now over 1 billion users! Very impressive.
Billion is quickly becoming the theme of Apple’s holiday earnings quarter results. For starters, Apple has earned well over $100 billion in a single quarter for the first time in the company’s history. Apple has also hit new milestones with its active install base of devices. According to CEO Tim Cook, there are now more than 1 billion iPhones being used by customers around the world, and Apple’s total install base is at an all-time high.
The total active installed base of Apple devices now stands at 1.65 billion, up from 1.5 billion a year ago.
