AMD teased the Radeon RX 6700 series at its digital CES 2021 event but didn't provide a launch date. Due to the shortages of chips and various other components, the GPU roadmaps of both AMD and NVIDIA have changed several times. The Radeon RX 6700 was supposed to be on the market already but AMD figured it wouldn't make sense to stretch the available resources over even more SKUs.

Now there's finally a launch date for the Radeon RX 6700 XT. French tech site Cowcotland picked up word that this model will hit the market on March 18th. The Radeon RX 6700 XT is the first model to feature the Navi22 GPU. The card reportedly has 40 CUs with a total of 2560 cores. It has a 192-bit memory bus and 12GB GDDR6 memory.

It will compete with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB -- that model is expected to land on February 15th. Unfortunately, Cowcotland also heard that Radeon RX 6700 XT launch volume will be "very limited." Even in March, the GPU shortages will still be a major problem.
