AMD Radeon Software 21.3.2 - plus new AGESA release and Windows 10 quality update

Let's round up today's software and firmware news in one post. First up, we have two items about AMD.

Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.3.2 is out

AMD published its Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.3.2 driver, you can download this version over here. Besides a couple of bug fixes, this release has optimizations for Outriders, Evil Genius 2, and the DiRT 5 ray-tracing update.

    Fixed Issues
  • Radeon RX 6700 series graphics products may report incorrect core clock values in performance tuning and/or the system graphics hardware information tab.
  • Shadows may exhibit corruption in Insurgency: Sandstorm™ on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics products.
  • On a limited number of displays, the preferred desktop resolution in Windows® may change when the display is power cycled.
  • The start and cancel buttons in the performance tuning stress test may disappear when Radeon Software is resized to be small.
  • A black screen may occur on a limited number of displays when Radeon FreeSync is enabled and playing a game set to use borderless fullscreen on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics products.
  • AMD AGESA Combo-AM4v2Pi 1.2.0.1 patch A resolves some USB issues

    Next, word is going around about a new AGESA Combo-AM4v2Pi 1.2.0.1 patch A from AMD. This update has been rolled out for a limited number of ASRock and ASUS motherboards.

    The new AGESA microcode update resolves a couple of USB issues. Over the past months, there were a lot of complaints about USB connectivity issues on AMD's latest platform. The 1.2.0.1 Patch A should resolve some USB compatibility and connectivity issues.

    Next month, AMD will roll out Combo-AM4v2Pi 1.2.0.2 -- that AGESA update will feature even more fixes for USB issues.



    Microsoft KB5000842 fixes bugs

    There is also a new optional update from Microsoft. The software giant is offering KB5000842 for Windows 10 version 2004 and 20H2. At the moment, this is an optional update that can be obtained via Windows Update. Here is an overview of the highlights:
  • Updates an issue with zoom that occurs when using Microsoft Edge IE Mode on devices that use multiple high-DPI monitors.
  • Updates an issue that makes high dynamic range (HDR) screens appear much darker than expected.
  • Updates an issue that causes video playback to be out of sync in duplicate mode when you use multiple monitors.
  • Updates an issue that displays nothing or shows “Computing Filters” indefinitely when you filter File Explorer search results.
  • Updates an issue that makes the split layout unavailable for the touch keyboard when you rotate a device to portrait mode.
  • Informs users when a child account in the Family Safety plan has administrative privileges.
  • Updates an issue that prevents you from closing Toast Notifications using the Close button on touchscreen devices.
  • Updates an issue with 7.1 channel audio technology.
  • Updates an issue that causes a device to stop working if you delete files or folders that OneDrive syncs.
