Fresh benchmark leaks of the upcoming Intel Core i9-12900K "Alder Lake-S" flagship reveal the new chip offers quite a punch. Compared with AMD's current flagship, the Ryzen 9 5950X, the 12900K appears to be a whopping 27 percent faster in the single-threaded CPU-Z test.

VideoCardz writes it looks like the 12900K offers about the same performance in the CPU-Z multi-threaded test than the 5950X.
Also earlier this week we learned how fast could Core i9-12900K be in Cinebench R20 and R23. This leak was the first indication that the flagship Alder Lake SKU might have the best single-thread performance out of all known desktop CPUs, at least when synthetic benchmarks are considered.
We'll have to wait a bit longer to be sure, but it's looking more and more like Alder Lake-S will be a single-threaded performance king.
