Microsoft acquires p2p service

InformationWeek writes Microsoft has acquired the FolderShare peer-to-peer (p2p) application which enables users to create a private p2p network to synchronize files across multiple devices and access or share files with other people.
Microsoft Corp. on Thursday said it has acquired file-sharing service FolderShare, a move that's part of the software giant's recently announced strategy of making its products available as Web services. Financial details were not disclosed.
