Intel is expected to launch the next-generation Pentium M 'Yonah' processor on January 3, 2006 and it looks like there will be quite some surprises. The first extraordinary thing is that this processor won't have the Pentium nametag. It will be called Core Solo or Core Duo, based on the number of cores. Centrino-based computers will also get Solo or Duo style logos.

This will be the first time in ten years time that Intel launches a x86 processor without calling it a Pentium. Intel also decided to give its logos an update, x86-secret.com reports, you can check out the new logos on the right.
