VIA announced its chipset availability for the AMD LIVE! digital media platform, DigiTimes
writes.
VIA stated that its latest chipset offerings, including the VIA K8T900 and VIA K8M890, all support AMD’s AMD64 technology. For multimedia applications, VIA also offers its latest integrated and discrete graphics solutions with S3 Graphics' Chrome S20 series of graphics processors, the company said. The graphics processors features the Chromotion Video Display Engine for enhanced visual output, display support, including HDTV output formats up to 1080p, advanced 2D/3D graphics capabilities and hardware accelerated motion compensation, according to the company. In addition, the chipset maker announced the availability of its southbridge chips, such as the VIA VT8251, for AMD’s digital home solution.
Yesterday, NVIDIA already mentioned its GeForce FX, GeForce 6-series and GeForce 7-series along with their nForce4 chipsets will be complementary with AMD LIVE! notebooks and desktop PCs.
