CoolerMaster Cosmos case review

Now that I've discussed the exterior of the Cosmos it's time to take a look inside.

Cooler Master Cosmos interior
Like I already said, the side panels of the Cosmos are very easy to remove. As you can see on the following picture a big part of the side panel is covered with sound dampening material.

When you open the case you'll see the VGA air duct, the hard drive cages, the toolless 5.25" installation tools and some fans and cables. Closer inspection reveals that Cooler Master attached a piece of paper to the backplate with some pieces of tape. This sheet shows you in which holes you need to put the standoffs for your motherboard. Very nice.

Inside the case I found a little bag with an extended cable for the 8-pin power connector and a couple of tie mounts. Because the PSU sits on the bottom of your case Cooler Master decided to ship this cable with the Cosmos in case the cable of your power supply is too short. The tie mounts can be used for cable management.

A little bit hidden behind the hard drive cages was the CoolerMaster accessory box.

On one side you'll find cable ties and a keyring with two screwdrivers (a flat and a crosshead one).

And the other side of the box houses a bag with all kinds of screws which you may need during the installation.

Almost every case features a cardboard box with all the accessories but Cooler Master decided to go the extra mile with the Cosmos and provides you with this exclusive aluminum box.

The case features a pretty big plastic VGA duct. This part takes advantage of the negative pressure effect in the case to direct cool air to your graphics card(s). As you can see the VGA duct is pretty easy to remove. The only thing I don't really like about this is that the ventilation holes through which air is drawn into the case don't have a dust filter.

Here's a look at the inside of the case with the VGA duct removed.
