Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W PSU review

Now it's time to take a look under the hood of the Toughpower 1000W.

Be aware that this voids your warranty and is pretty dangerous as an unplugged power supply may still hold enough current to kill you.

Taking the PSU apart wasn't really easy, ThermalTake really used a lot of screws and I even had to bend the metallic label on the left side of the PSU a bit in order to access the screws.

The fan used in this unit is the TT-1425B 140mm fan from Thermaltake.

Here's a look at the layout of the Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W.

ThermalTake used lots of black aluminum heatsinks inside this power supply which should help to dissipate the heat.

As you can see on the photos the Toughpower 1000W has a pretty special layout. This product actually features two small 500W PSUs which deliver a combined output of 1000W.

The primary sides of the PSU use Rubycon capacitors and the secondary side Nippon Chemicon capacitors.
