Rather old but still popular. This benchmark uses a real gaming engine. First is the overall score:

And here's also a look at the CPU score which is more memory-bound than the overall score:

Conclusion
The OCZ FlexXLC 800MHz CL3 DDR2 memory kit is an excellent choice if you're looking for a good 800MHz DDR2 memory kit that features good performance, CL3 timings and moderate overclocking potential. Besides good performance the Flex XLC series also has a very nice design and a cool extra is the support for watercooling. However, while watercooling the modules will result in a big temperature drop it doesn't seem to improve the overclocking potential.

With my Flex XLC PC2-6400 CL3 modules I achieved a max overclock of 11% at the standard timings. By loosening the timings to 5-5-5-15 the modules allowed a 31.25% overclock to 1050MHz at 2.4V which is not too bad.

This memory kit is perfect for small overclockers but if you want to go all-the-way I recommend checking out the OCZ Flex XLC PC2-9600 memory kit which runs at 1200MHz with 5-5-5-18 timings - and that are just the advertised specs.

The Good Stuff
  • Supports watercooling right out of the box
  • Good performance
  • Very stable
  • Overclocks pretty well
  • Didn't get too hot
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Nice looks

    The Bad Stuff
  • Barbs are 1/4"
  • The large size may cause problems with some aftermarket CPU coolers

I give this memory kit a 9 out of 10 and our Seal of Approval.
