Razer Lachesis mouse review
Testing and Conclusion
The features of the Razer Lachesis sound impressive, but how does this gaming mouse perform? Well, it's a mixed bag. One of the first things I noticed is that the ambidextrous design of the Lachesis doesn't feel that comfortable, it's a step back from the DeathAdder. The mouse doesn't really follow the shape of your hand, and I also experienced that most of the extra buttons are usually out of reach. I could operate the second button on the left side with my thumb, and one of the two buttons on the right side with my pink, but to use the other buttons I had to move my hand too much - which isn't ideal with a high-sensitivity mouse.
Another major issue I encountered is that the Razer Lachesis didn't play well with some surfaces. On some mousepads it worked fine but on several plastic mousepads, including the SteelSeries S&S the Lachesis produced very erratic cursor movements.
Other than those issues I didn't really encounter any issues with the Lachesis during the weeks I've tested it and I highly recommend it for gamers who prefer high-sensitivity, the gaming experience is really good. The mouse provides very fast and precise tracking, it smoothly slides over your mouse pad and it's a real joy in FPS games. You can go as high as 4000 DPI, although I have to admit about half of that was already more than enough for me. While the Razer Lachesis has some flaws, it's still a very good gaming mouse. I give it a 8/10.
