Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse review

Testing
To be honest I can't spot much difference in accuracy between the MX700 and the MX1000. But what I do spot is that the MX1000 works on some surfaces where the MX700 wouldn't track anymore. For instance glossy surfaces like the smooth side of the Steelpad 4D mousepad. So for some mousepads or other surfaces, the improved tracking will be more than welcome.

I always hear people that people are anxious to buy cordless mice because they heard that they lag. Just like with the MX700 I couldn't spot any lag problems with the MX1000.

I have been reading on a few forums what other people think about this mouse and I'm amazed. They report about tracking problems after you move the mouse quickly and lift it up but I don't have this issue. And because I have bought this mouse it's sure that I haven't received a cherry-picked review sample. It seems that some gamers really dislike this mouse, so please be aware of this potential issue if you're going to buy this mouse.

Conclusion
After testing this new mouse from Logitech I can conclude that this is probably one of the best cordless mice available on the market. It looks very good and professional and it also feels superb. The tracking is as good as (or maybe even better) as the MX700 and normally it should work on some surfaces where the MX700 didn't work on.

But just like the MX700 this mouse is very expensive. Its official introduction price is the same as the price of the MX700: $79.95. But please note that this mouse is available for less. I bought the mouse for 61.5EUR but in some countries in Europe, it's available for even less. In the US you can find this mouse for $60-$70. The prices vary from shop to shop.

Pros
- Supreme tracking and very smooth.
- Good looking.
- Very comfortable design.
- The Cruise Control system makes it very easy to scroll through documents or large webpages.
- Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
- Battery indicator directly on the mouse.
- The battery life of the MX1000 is longer than the MX700 and it also has an on/off switch.
- Probably world's best cordless mouse. - Absolutely no lag in normal applications, and probably in most games neither.

Cons
- The symbols on the buttons wear off quickly.
- The base station looks a bit flimsy.
- High price but it's worth it.
- The scroll wheel requires too many force to click.
- Possible lag issues in games.
