Research firm IDC says HP is now the biggest notebook brand in Europe, U.S. and Asia:
Hewlett-Packard's (HP's) first quarter notebook shipments in Europe reached 1.38 million units, growing 53% on year to beat Acer's 1.23 million and become the number one brand in Europe again, according to figures from IDC cited in a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.

HP shipped 1.74 million units in the US in the first quarter of 2007, beating Dell's 1.55 million units, noted the paper, adding that IDC's figures also indicated that HP beat Lenovo for the number one spot in Asia as well.
