Intel: Pentium brand still much stronger than Core

Posted on Sunday, March 22 2009 @ 00:48:06 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

FUD Zilla had a chat with Intel Marketing Director Zene Ball and heard the Pentium is still one of Intel's strongest brands. Centrino is also doing really fine, but Core remains relatively unknown to most people.
Core 2 and Core i7 brands are doing well in the performance and enthusiast segment where a lot of people know about them, while regular users know Intel's Pentium much better.

Pentium as a brand will stay around for a while, but Intel will continue to work on Core 2 and Core i7 branding. Intel didn’t want to confirm the new logos that we’ve learn are coming as of the first day of next quarter.
