NVIDIA pulls *nix drivers as well

Posted on Tuesday, March 09 2010 @ 11:55:23 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Last week NVIDIA removed the GeForce 196.75 WHQL drivers from its website and urged users to downgrade because of an overheating bug, and now the company has also pulled two drivers for Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris.

The company says the 195.36.03 and 195.36.08 *nix drivers are affected by the issue and urges users to downgrade to driver version 190.53 or 195.30 public beta.

GeForce owners who use the affected drivers may experience slow performance and risk damaging their graphics card due to overheating.
