Microsoft to protect users against malware with Windows OneCare

Posted on Friday, May 13 2005 @ 12:37:38 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Microsoft announced it will launch an anti-virus subscription service later this year. This week the company will distribute the Windows OneCare service among its employees for testing and a public trial beta version will be offered later this year.

Windows OneCare will offer users anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall protection for a yearly subscription fee. Additionally it will also incorporate tools to maintain optimal system performance and to backup data.

Pricing or release date of Windows OneCare remains unknown.
