In what seems like a very early April Fool's Day joke, Google filed a patent for a new technology that can help you keep up with your social networking accounts by automatically writing "personalized reactions". The robot analyzes your social networking history and uses this data to construct responses, saving you countless seconds of thinking and writing up your own replies. According to Google, the technology could also be used for e-mail, instant messaging or texting.
It constructs these automated responses by collecting social interactions, categorizing them and ranking their importance based upon prior posts to similarly labeled items. From there, it authors an appropriate reaction and provides you with the option of using it to reply, thereby saving you the countless seconds it would take to think of a response to all those cute dog and baby pictures coming your way.
