NVIDIA's DirectX 12 woes continue, Creative Assembly just rolled out the DirectX 12 patch for Total War: Warhammer and it turns out that enabling this beta mode results in a significant performance hit on NVIDIA hardware.

DSO Games did a brief test and found that while their system with a GeForce GTX 980 Ti achieved 96.1fps in DirectX 11 mode, the performance fell to 70.7fps in the DirectX 12 beta mode.
One of the biggest advantages of DX12 – at least according to Microsoft – is its improved multi-threading capabilities. However, as we can clearly see in both the in-game benchmark and our Extreme scenario, the game is unable to properly take advantage of all our CPU cores (again, DX11 graph is on the left whereas DX12 graph is on the right).
