PalmOne will announce a line of hard-drive based products on May 18. The palmOne LifeDrive Mobile Manager will feature a 4GB HDD and wireless connectivity.
The Life Drive Mobile Manager will be able to play music and display pictures. It will feature an Intel XScale PXA270 416MHz processor and a 320x480 pixel color screen. It will use the Garnet OS, which supports Bluetooth and 802.11b Wi-Fi wireless connectivity.
The device will use Pocket Tunes and will be able to sync with Real's Rhapsody music service. It will also feature software to transfer photos to and from the device.
The palmOne Life Drive Mobile Manager will cost $499. Some people write that it could become a competitor of the Apple iPod mini but both devices are in a completely different price class as the iPod mini costs only $199. More info at CNET
