Asus 7800GT-DUAL will need external power source

Posted on Thursday, September 22 2005 @ 02:10:57 CEST by

The guys from VR-Zone have posted a photo of Asus's upcoming GeForce 7800GT-DUAL card. This card will feature two NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT cores and will be pretty huge.

It has a single 6-pin Molex connector to power two GPUs and it requires an external power source using an AC adapter. The card has two DVI-outs and two VGA connectors.

I wonder how this card will perform compared to a SLI system and whether it will be cheaper than two 7800GTs in SLI.
