One area of the show featured a gaming hardware museum.
Some new agricultural game for the Nintendo DS:
The Bundeswehr (German army) was there looking for new recruits..
Forest environment, not sure which game this was but its from WB.
An impression of the huge Nintendo booth, which had lots of Wii and DS games on display:
SEGA moved in a big Christmas tree for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games.
You could even play the game in a snowglobe, which was pretty funny considering that it was well over 30°C in Cologne :-)
German e-tailer Snogard and Cooler Master brought a big truck to show some products.
And to end our pictorial, here's a photo from the cosplay world record attempt:

This was the first edition of Gamescom and we were pretty impressed. It was a very neat show with lots of exhibitors and there were plenty of exciting new games on display. If you don't live too far from Cologne we definitely recommend you check out next year's edition of Gamescom!
