Microsoft to offer 250MB capacity on Hotmail

Microsoft has confirmed that they will raise the capacity of their Hotmail e-mailaccounts. Since a few weeks ago Google started offering 1GB e-mail accounts and since then some other big players like Yahoo have followed by raising their capacity.

This summer Microsoft will start upgrading all accounts to 250MB, instead of the 2MB at this moment. Paying members of 'Hotmail Plus' will receive 2GB to store all their e-mails. One of the other advantages of 'Hotmail Plus' is the ability to send e-mails with a size of maximum 20MB. Free members are only allowed to send mails with a maximum size of 10MB.

This summer they will start upgrading all 170 million accounts to 250MB, and they will also offer extra anti-virus protection.
