ICANN approves .xxx top level domain name

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number (ICANN) has approved the plan to create a new .xxx top level domain for porn sites. Currently ICANN is negotiating with ICM Registry to level out technical issues and prices for the new top level domain.

Depending on ICM's plans the adult business will be able to start buying .xxx names by fall or winter. The new domain will be sold for about $60 a year and will make it easier to block pornographic sites.
