While at CES 2005 I met with the folks from ParkerVision to discuss their SignalMAX WR1500 router, which makes a pretty bold claim of having a one-mile line-of-sight range. I don't have an open field around my house to test out this claim, but after installing the WR1500 in my network I can say that I have a noticeable range improvement..
