The latest generation of ATi graphics card were launched as natively PCI-Express cards. This meant that they could take advantage of the increased bandwidth of the 16x PCI-E slot and also in most cases, make use of the increased power supplied through the PCI-E slot and do away with an additional molex connector to power the card.

The latest X800 series ranged from the flagship product of the X850XT PE to the X800XL and the card we are reviewing today, the X800. The card we have today is the Powercolor X800 128MB PCI-Express version.
