AMD Athlon 64 Winchester & Venice Memory Controller Review

Today, sgOverclockers looks at the two most recent CPU core revisions from AMDs line of Desktop Athlon64 CPUs. Codenamed "Winchester" and "Venice".

We have in our test labs two CPUs, one 3200+ Winchester core and one 3000+ Venice core. The main difference between the two is that the Venice core CPUs feature an improved Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) process, the addition of the SSE3 instruction set and supposed memory tweaks to the on die memory controller.
