Those going down the Intel route are no longer restricted to Intel's own platform solutions. Granted that they are good, competition is better. From what we can see, the new kid on the block, NVIDIA's nForce4 SLI Intel Edition is a force to be reckoned with. The ASUS P5ND2-SLI Deluxe happens to be one of the latest nForce4 SLI Intel Edition boards to pop out of the woodwork.
