With a panel removed we see one of the case's key features which is 1/2 inch wave foam applied to the interior surface of the case. Nexus Canada reports that this material has similar properties to Nexus Damptek Foam Dampening material. It can withstand extreme temperatures, and is flame-resistant. The foam coats the inner flat surfaces of the case. The Nexus chassis is made of steel, and the outer shell is made of plastic. The plastic does not have any acoustic dampening properties, and is completely aesthetic.
