Dual processors have been in the market for a long time. Most often used in servers where heavy processing power is needed , dual processor systems can handle tasks significantly faster in multi-threaded applications. This year, Intel launches its Pentium D and Pentium Extreme Edition series of processors incorporating dual cores within a single CPU. This seems to be a trend this year... dual everything, from dual Video Cards (nVidia's SLI and ATi's Cross-Fire), to dual core CPUs, the X2s from AMD and of course Intel's Dual Cores..
