Although more expensive than some laptops, the PepperPad home Internet tablet is underpowered and overpriced. Get a laptop instead. The PepperPad is a 2.3-pound gray slab with an 8.5-inch, 800-by-600-pixel touch screen in the middle and an odd split keyboard of rubbery little keys on either side of the screen.
