I'll give an early nod to the visual effects in Flightplan. There are flaws in the movie, of course, but I was totally taken by the directing style, the camera work, and the overall look of the sets, special effects, and atmosphere of every scene. It's visually engaging, which is important when you are stuck in a confined space like and airplane...
