Components needed include a socket 939 CPU, power supply, memory, drives, and video card. ASUS integrated the fallowing components into the A8R-MVP's PCB, 4 EIDE ATA-133 ports; 1 floppy port; 4 SATA 2 ports on the ULI M1575 controller, (RAID 0, 1, 0+1, RAID-5, JBOD spanning); 8 USB 2.0 ports, (4 in rear panel, and 2 on the motherboard supporting 2 USB ports each.); two IEEE1394 ports, (1 via rear panel and one via internal header.); Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit LAN Controller; ADI SoundMax AD1986A 6-Channel codec; with jack sensing capabilities and SPDIF jack; and as usual standard PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, as well as a legacy parallel/RS232 ports...
