The case is protected with the softer foam as opposed to the harder Styrofoam and wrapped in a plastic bag. After removing the case from the box and checking for damage, none was found. That's always a good thing. One nice thing they did in the packaging department was to add crumpled up paper in the case to protect the water cooling components that had been installed.
