Radeon X800XT-PE and X800Pro Review

Today ATI is launching two cards, the X800Pro and the X800XT Platinum Edition. Both are based on the same technology and have the exact same features. The only difference is frames per second performance. In order to meet those performance differences ATI has reduced the number of pipelines and clocked the core and memory speed lower on the X800Pro. The X800Pro is a 12 pixel pipeline video card operating at 475MHz core and 450MHz (900MHz DDR) memory. The X800XT is a 16 pixel pipeline video card operating at 520MHz core and 560MHz (1.12GHz DDR) memory. Since these cards are the same built by ATI cards that you will be able to buy on the shelf we can call this an actual review, and not a preview. This review represents exactly the performance what you will get with a retail ATI card of the same model in terms of frames per second and Image Quality. Something you will notice when looking at the pictures below, both the X800Pro and the X800XT look identical, there isn’t one lick of a difference in appearance.
