When we declared Bose’s Quiet Comfort II ($299) the gold standard for out-of-ear noise-canceling headphones back in our November issue, the folks at Ultrasone responded to the statement with a resounding, “oh yeah?” Almost immediately afterward, we received a navy blue box. Upon opening the package, we found a large pair of navy blue PROline 650 headphones complete with a big Ultrasone logo on the exterior of each ear. Aesthetically, they’re akin to something that might be offered at a public library listening station..
