NVIDIA’s nForce 4 chipset has been the top-dog for AMD CPUs since its release last year and had a new lease on life breathed into it when NVIDIA updated the bus with a x16 PCI-E architecture that greatly increased available bandwidth between the video cards and CPU. Socket 939 CPUs from AMD have also been leading in performance during that time for the enthusiast market which – up until Conroe’s release – will keep Intel’s current P4’s at bay.
