The Revolution does another thing - it enhances the sound. UpBeat calls it "hi-definition." It definitely boosts the sound, but the audio enhancement has some odd side effects. I tried it with a variety of material, from spoken, to music videos. I tried it with a variety of music types as well. One thing comes to mind - I want the option to turn off the audio enhancement while keeping the signal boost. It made many things sound louder, but thinner and it made light ballads that use a little echo difficult to listen to because the echo is enhanced making vocals sound very far away in some cases..
