The ASUS cooler uses a swing-arm that you can raise vertically – allowing it to get additional cooling from the fan which cools the CPU. While this design has inherit advantages such as contributing to a silent PC, it does have the problem of not fitting in every configuration out there; for example, our MSI test-bed motherboard didn’t fit the card in the top-most PCI-E slot because the heatsink hit against the active cooler on the motherboard’s northbridge chip.
